The Natural Capital Agency

A registry of our client's available natural capital credits listed by site and location, separated into distinct categories. We have baselined and established biodiversity units, pending carbon credits and are seeking sites for nutrient neutrality.

Our goal is to deliver strategically important outcomes for nature conservation and increased connectivity between habitats and ecological networks. We invite landowners to biodiversify, particularly on land that connects existing sites and will have regard to the evolving local nature recovery strategies (LNRS) to create a sustainable ecological function.

Purchasers may easily locate and select suitable Biodiversity Units by searching through the site and we can match your specific requirements to suppliers of Natural Capital credits.

For the landowner, creating a supply of Natural Capital credits to attract new income to the farm business does not mean stopping agricultural production, loosing control or ownership of your land.

Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS) are being drawn-up to inform national environment policy. Underpinned by the 25 Year Environment Plan (2018) and the Environment Plan 2020. The purpose of the LNRS is to restore and link up habitats so that species can thrive and agree the best places to help nature recover, plant trees and woodland, restore peatland, mitigate flood and fire risk, and create green spaces for local people to enjoy.

These developing strategies will help to inform the location and delivery of biodiversity, and will be referenced on the individual sites as they evolve.

Small Sites

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is now mandatory for small development sites 🌱 across England.

This means BNG now applies to residential projects with one to nine dwellings on a site of 1 hectare or less and commercial projects with 1,000 square meters or less of floor space.

Top Tips can be found on the Natural Englang Blog and although the requirement for off-site BNG is likely to be small, we can cater for any amount though our established Banked sites - nothing too big 🌳 nor too small 🥀
